St. Rita of Cascia endured an abusive marriage, the deaths of her husband and sons, and painful stigmata — yet remained joyful and holy. She is the patron saint of impossible cases, abused women, and lonely or difficult causes.

About This Novena

Rita's life was a series of impossible situations that God transformed. She was told no by three monasteries before God miraculously transported her into one. Nothing is impossible with God — and nothing is beyond Rita's intercession.

OPENING PRAYER

O holy patroness of those in need, St. Rita, whose pleadings before thy Divine Lord are almost irresistible, who for thy lavishness in granting favors hast been called the Advocate of the Hopeless and even of the Impossible, St. Rita, be thou interceding for me before the Divine Lord. Amen.
